The Baronnies & surrounding areas

Montbrun-les-Bains

Nestled in the heart of the Baronnies Provençales Regional Natural Park, Montbrun-les-Bains is ranked among the most beautiful villages in France.

This medieval village, perched on a hill facing Mont Ventoux, is especially renowned for its thermal baths with their beneficial waters, rich in sulfur and trace elements.

Its center is 2.5 km from La Maison de Marguerite, easily accessible in a few minutes.

Montbrun-les-Bains is also located on the Lavender Route, an enchanting route that comes alive between mid-June and mid-July, when the fields turn purple and fill the air with an unforgettable fragrance.

The Baronnies Regional Natural Park

The Baronnies Provençales Regional Natural Park offers a mosaic of wild and luminous landscapes, between limestone cliffs, oak forests, olive groves, and lavender fields.

It is a paradise for hikers, cyclists, and lovers of unspoiled nature. Among the must-sees, the Albion and Sault plateaus reveal spectacular panoramas throughout the seasons, punctuated by authentic villages and wide open spaces where a profound calm, typical of Provence, reigns.

The Toulourenc Valley

In the heart of the hills between Montbrun-les-Bains and Vaison-la-Romaine lies a discreet but oh-so-magical valley, cradled by the turquoise waters of the Toulourenc at the foot of Mont Ventoux.

This valley is home to small villages where you can let your wanderlust guide you: Savoillan and its art and culture attractions, Brantes and its cobbled streets and gourmet spots, St Léger du Ventoux and its unusual bookstore, Entrechaux and its castle, the hamlet of Veaux for a stroll with your feet in the water, and Mollans-sur-Ouvèze, which will charm you with its authenticity.

The lavender route

From Sault to Valensole in the Hautes Alpes, discover landscapes in multiple shades of blue created by lavender in our region from mid-June to the end of July.

Passing through the Albion plateau, the Lavender Route takes you through the villages of Ferrassières, Banon (and its large bookstore), and Simiane la Rotonde. You can continue on to Manosque and its famous Valensole plateau.

Visits to farms and distilleries are organized regularly. A detour to Aroma Plantes in Sault is a must! More information HERE

Buis les Baronnies & Nyons

30 minutes from the house, Buis-les-Baronnies, the capital of lime trees, charms with its authenticity and shady alleyways. Its market is also a must-see. The Via Ferrata of the St. Julien Rock will attract the most adventurous to dizzying peaks! The Ubrieux Gorges will invite you to hike and take a refreshing swim.

A little further away, Nyons, "Little Nice," charms with its southern atmosphere, its colorful markets, and its famous olives. Visit the olive oil museum or the olive oil factory, discover its old Romanesque bridge, and indulge in the delicacies of this region.

Rémuzat & its surroundings

Further north, passing the Aulan Gorges and its castle, explore a mountain valley that hides well-kept treasures.

Cross the passes and vineyards around Sainte-Jalle, venture into the Sainte-May Gorges, meet the Rémuzat vultures, cool off at the "Pas des Ondes" lake in Cornillon-sur-l'Oule, and stroll towards La Motte-Chalancon, which opens onto the Diois region.

The Baronnies Provençales are Nature in its purest form, preserved flora and fauna, multifaceted landscapes, and Warm encounters with welcoming locals passionate about their region of Drôme Provençale at the foot of Mont Ventoux.
